Advanced Technology Implants

What Are Advanced Technology Implants?

The artificial lens used to replace your cataracts is called an intraocular lens, or IOL. These IOLs are small devices that are designed to mirror your own eye’s natural lens.

TriCounty Eye Institute offers several lens options for patients being treated for cataracts. The lens you choose will depend on several factors, including your individual overall eye health and the type of lifestyle you need.

Dr. Mark Schneider will discuss your available lens options, which include the following:

TriCounty Eye Institute offers comprehensive eye care and skin care to residents of Corona, CA, Riverside, CA, the Inland Empire, and Orange County. Our family of eye care and cosmetic specialists is specially trained and qualified to help you enjoy a lifetime of clear vision and skin with breakthroughs in cataract surgery, the latest in laser vision correction procedures, and the most advanced technology in skin care.

ReSTOR® Multifocal IOL Lens

ReSTOR® Multifocal IOL Lens

For most cataract patients in the Inland Empire area, being able to see without wearing reading glasses or bifocals was just not possible. Today, advanced lifestyle lens technology known as the AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL is designed to help TriCounty Eye Institute cataract patients see clearly with little or no dependence on bifocals or reading glasses.

In the clinical study for the ReSTOR® implant, 80% of patients receiving the lens stated that they never wear glasses for any activities. Reading, driving, playing sports, and even working on a computer were the most common daily events they now enjoyed without depending on corrective eye wear to see clearly. And nearly 94% of patients said they would have the AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL implanted again.

Dr. Mark Schneider, one of TriCounty’s most trusted cataract surgeons, performs surgery at our Medicare approved outpatient ambulatory surgery center. Your eye will be treated with anesthetic eye drops prior to the procedure. A microscopic incision will made allowing Dr. Schneider to insert your ReSTOR® lens and set the lens so that it is permanently positioned for good vision.

Once your cataract procedure is completed, you will remain in our comfortable post-operative care area and Dr. Schneider will once again examine your eye. You will then be free to go home and rest your vision for the remainder of the day. Once both eyes have been treated, you can fully appreciate the benefits of AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL.

ReZoom® Multifocal IOL Lens

As one of TriCounty’s most trusted cataract surgeons. Dr. Mark Schneider is committed to offering the most advanced lens technologies for improving your vision after cataract surgery.

The ReZoom® lens, implanted through a microscopic incision by Dr. Schneider during cataract surgery, has unique multifocal zones to help improve your eyesight at all ranges of vision and in varying light conditions.

ReZoom®’s Balance View Optics technology utilizes five zones to help you see clearly in bright and low light conditions without depending on corrective eyewear.

Zones 1, 3, and 5 are designed for clear distance vision in bright and low light situations such as driving at dusk and at night. Zones 2 and 4 provide good near vision in low and bright light settings so you can see to read a menu, your cell phone, or the dashboard in your car no matter the time of day. The result for good candidates is a full range of clear vision – near, mid-range, and distance.

In the FDA studies of ReZoom®, 92% of patients reported that following their lens removal procedure, they never or just occasionally had to wear their glasses. During your cataract evaluation with Dr. Schneider, specialized testing will be performed to determine if you are a good candidate for one of our Lifestyle Lenses. At TriCounty Eye Institute, we are committed to bringing the best in proven technology to each and every one of our lens patients in the Inland Empire community.

Crystalens® HD: Accommodating Lens Implant

Crystalens® HD: Accommodating Lens Implant

Exciting breakthroughs in lens implant technology at TriCounty Eye Institute are allowing us to offer Baby Boomers and seniors throughout Orange County, Riverside, Corona, and the entire Inland Empire area the ability to reduce or eliminate their dependence on reading glasses, bifocals, and other prescription eyewear.

These new “Lifestyle Lenses” have helped hundreds of patients see to read, work on a computer, drive, and participate in their favorite activities without depending on reading glasses and bifocals. We are proud to be among the first surgeons in the region to offer patients the benefits of the latest lens design, the Crystalens® HD.

Leading eye surgeon Dr. Mark Schneider of TriCounty Eye Institute takes great care to always recommend the very best lens implant technology to improve your vision and your lifestyle. The Crystalens® HD intraocular lens works like the eye’s natural lens to help return the range of vision you enjoyed when you were younger.

The lens’ revolutionary design mimics the eye’s natural ability to focus on distant, middle, and near objects, restoring a broader range of vision. Crystalens® HD’s advanced design can help restore your reading vision with little or no dependence on reading glasses for most daily activities. In fact, in FDA studies, about 80% of people who received the Crystalens® HD could see at J2 or better (near vision equivalent of 20/20) after four months — superior to standard IOLs.

The Crystalens® HD lens has the advantage of allowing 100% of light rays to enter the eye, giving our patients better vision at all ranges throughout the day and lowering the risk of glare and halos at night.

Dr. Schneider and the team at TriCounty Eye Institute trust this advanced lifestyle lens technology to deliver exceptional results. Our commitment is to provide you with the latest in cataract care to ensure a good visual outcome. With the experience of thousands of successful cataract procedures – and the best in technology – you can rest assured you are in good hands.
