Dr. Jonathan Truong is a board certified optometrist born and raised in Southern California. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. And then received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Dr. Truong’s training sites within California included various modes of practice such as an independent optometry/ophthalmology practice in Burbank, a community health clinic in South Central, a kid’s vision clinic by the Boys & Girls Club in Garden Grove, and a school clinic in Anaheim. He also trained at a facility in Arizona dedicated to serving the Native American population. This diversity in training equipped him with experience across many aspects of optometry, such as primary care, pediatrics, vision therapy, low vision, and contact lenses.
Dr. Truong completed a residency with emphasis in ocular disease at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Having worked alongside ophthalmology from the University of California, San Francisco, he has extensive experience treating/managing both visual and ocular conditions such as refractive error, red eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal breaks, and more. Dr. Truong is committed to delivering patient’s the highest standard of care. His ultimate goal for all patients is to feel heard, informed, and comfortable with their vision and ocular health.
Outside of his profession, Dr. Truong likes to spend time with his family and loved ones. He enjoys watching basketball, collecting sneakers, exploring new restaurants, and admiring koi and tropical fish.
