Custom Cataract Surgery
Cataracts are the leading cause of poor vision in adults over the age of 60. The good news is that with today’s advanced treatments Cataracts no longer mean a loss of your eyesight. In fact, Cataract surgery is one of the safest surgeries performed today and is over 95% successful in restoring good vision.
At TriCounty Eye Institute you will always find the latest options when it comes to cataract surgery. With recent FDA approvals, there are now advanced intraocular lens (IOL) implants available that can dramatically reduce or eliminate your dependence on glasses after your cataract surgery. Dr Mark Schneider will recommend the intraocular lens implant that best suits your specific vision needs and lifestyle during your personal cataract evaluation. As always, we look forward to the opportunity of providing you with the best possible surgical eye care.
For most cataract patients in the Inland Empire area, being able to see without wearing reading glasses or bifocals was just not possible. Today, advanced lifestyle lens technology known as the AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL, is designed to help TriCounty Eye Institute cataract patients see clearly with little or no dependence on bifocals or reading glasses.
Once both eyes have been treated, you can fully appreciate the benefits of AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL. In the clinical study for the ReSTOR implant, 80% of patients receiving the lens stated that they never wear glasses for any activities. Reading, driving, playing sports, even working on a computer were all daily events they now enjoyed without depending on corrective eye wear to see clearly.
AcrySof® Toric IOL
Many cataract patients also have the common condition known as astigmatism and in the past have typically required prescription glasses see clearly after following cataract procedure. Today’s AcrySof® Toric lens allows Dr. Schneider to treat mild amounts of astigmatism during your cataract procedure.
This specially designed lens, implanted during your cataract procedure, is based on your exact prescription and the amount of astigmatism correction required. Thanks to the precision and accuracy of the Toric lens, clearer, sharp distance vision can be restored without the aid of glasses!
Dr. Mark Schneider also offers patients considering our specialty Lifestyle Lenses, the ReZoom Multifocal Refractive IOL. The ReZoom lens has unique multifocal zones to help improve your eyesight both at all ranges of vision and in varying light conditions. There are five zones and each zone is designed to help you see clearly in bright and low light conditions without depending on corrective eyewear. In fact, in clinical studies 92% of ReZoom patients no longer needed glasses for most activities.
During your cataract evaluation with Dr. Schneider, specialized testing will be performed to determine if you are a good candidate for one of our lifestyle lenses. At TriCounty Eye Institute we are committed to bringing the best in proven technology to each and every patient.
