Rany Woo, MD
Rany Woo, MD received her Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she studied Brain and Cognitive Sciences. At MIT, she received numerous awards for her commitment to public service and philanthropic pursuits. MIT President, Susan Hockfield, recognized her as a campus leader and she was invited to meet Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus.
After college, she headed to New Haven, CT and obtained her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine. It was during this time that she became passionate about a career in surgically and medically managing ophthalmologic disease. She returned to Massachusetts to complete her medicine internship at Metrowest Medical Center before deciding that she had finally had enough of the cold weather. Dr. Woo made the sojourn to the West Coast where she completed her ophthalmology residency at the renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute/UCLA. She has published widely in peer reviewed medical journals, as well as contributing to teaching aides for medical students.
Dr. Woo is excited to continue practicing in Southern California as part of the team of providers at TriCounty Eye Institute. She has a wide range of interests including cataract surgery, non-surgical management of retinal disease, pterygium, glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, and comprehensive eye care.
When not at work, Dr. Woo enjoys hiking, traveling, playing the piano, and spending time with her adorable Maltipoo.
